1 Corinthians 1:6-8 says “Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” This passage is very key to our understanding of how important the prophetic ministry is. I say prophetic because Paul says the “testimony of Christ was confirmed in you”. We find what the testimony of Christ is in Revelation 19:10 which says “And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” The spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus. So when Paul says the testimony of Christ was confirmed in them, he’s saying they received prophetic ministry which caused them not to lack other spiritual gifts they needed to complete their ministry assignments. In essence Paul is also saying that if you do not receive prophecy you could have blame against you when Christ returns: 1 Corinthians 1:8 again says “Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Through prophetic ministry you will know the gifts you were unaware of so you can now utilize said gifts to fulfill everything Christ commissioned you to do and then you will be found blameless in the day of Christ. This also tells us that all the charismatic gifts are here until Christ returns. Christ does NOT want us to lack his divine enablements because we don’t believe in prophecy being for today. John 7:38 says “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” The testimony of Christ wants to flow to you and out of you today!
