The king of Babylon’s fall is a type of Satan’s fall: Isaiah 14:13, says “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven,…”
Belshazzar took the sacred drinking vessels out of the treasury that Nebuchadnezzar took from Jerusalem, and drank from them. The Lord had these vessels made for the preist to use for a drink offering to the Lord. So Belshazzar thought that he was the Lord of all, not remembering what happened to Nebuchadnezzar his father. It’s the same way with Satan.
The Devil said in his heart, he would ascend into heaven. This scripture is also showing us that Satan was not in heaven when he sinned, he was on the earth: for he said “…I will ascend into heaven,…” In Ezekiel 28, it shows us where Satan was when he sinned, using another type of Satan, the king of Tyrus. Verse 13-15, says “Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.”
What iniquity was this?
Ezek.28:17, says “Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground,…” Pride began to rise in him, and he said in his heart “…I will ascend into heaven,…” after he thought these thoughts no judgment had fallen upon him yet. So as he see’s God make Adam and Eve, then charge them not to eat of the tree of knowledge, and give them authority over every thing including himself, he opens his mouth and says “…Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”
These scriptures show us multiple things: He was in Eden when he sinned, not in heaven, He was covered with precious stones and musical pipes; He was created in a day, not between verse one and two of Genesis chapter one: Lucifer was created on day two with the rest of the angels: Ps.104:1-5, explains, “Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honor and majesty. Who coverst thyself with light as with a garment: (that was day one) who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: (that was day two) Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed forever (that was day three).” When Jesus said he beheld Satan fall as lightning from heaven it was prophetic of what would happen after Jesus’ death on the cross. – Anthony D.
