Psalm 24:7-8 says “Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. [8] Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.”
This Psalm is a Messianic Psalm of Christ conquering over death!
We see the question in verse 3 “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord” and he answers back and says “He that hath clean hands and a pure heart…”
Jesus became our propitiation, our atonement and Hebrews 9:24 says “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:”
The Lifting of the heads comes in when we see Revelation 5:2-6 which says “And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? [3] And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. [4] And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. [5] And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. [6] And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.”
He causes a lifting of the heads that hung down because of death but he conquered death, Hell, and the grave! He was strong in battle on the cross for Colossians 2:14-15 says “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; [15] And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” It, meaning the cross. LIFT UP YOUR HEADS!
