2 Corinthians 12:9 says “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
The word infirmities is the same word in Matthew 8:16-17 which says “When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: [17] That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.”
A direct quote from Isaiah 53:4 “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.”
If Jesus carried these infirmities, why is Paul rejoicing in the infirmity?
When God is birthing in you an anointing for healing, you must at times carry the yoke of the infirmity that will yield the Grace of healing.
Smith Wigglesworth, used mightily by God in healing, yet his own family suffered from sickness, and death.
God chooses Apostles and makes them carriers of his grace in healing others. His strength is made perfect! The phrase “made perfect” means to consecrate. God has consecrated some to bear illness in order to yield his glory in the healing gift.
