John 6:51 says “I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” Jesus who became unleavened bread on the cross on the Passover, and was buried on the feast of Unleavened gives the Eucharist before Nisan the 14th with leavened bread because he is the resurrection and the life. Jesus rose on the Sheaf of the first fruits. Jesus is the living bread in the Eucharist. If anyone eat this bread he will live forever! The disciples continued this in the Celebration of the Eucharist in giving leavened bread. This was one of the reasons that the east and west split in 1054. We pray that all will receive that Living bread as they Celebrate the Risen Savior who died for our sins.
