SHIFT THE LANDSCAPE!

“In the Old testament the prophet heard from God for the nation because the nation heard from God through the Prophet. But in the New testament the Prophet hears from God to confirm the body who also hears from God. Jeremiah shifts the landscape of the prophetic with this revelation given to him by God: Jeremiah 31:33-34 says “But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. AND THEY SHALL TEACH NO MORE EVERY MAN HIS NEIGHBOR, AND EVERY MAN HIS BROTHER, SAYING, KNOW THE LORD: FOR THEY SHALL ALL KNOW ME, FROM THE LEAST OF THEM UNTO THE GREATEST OF THEM, SAITH THE LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” Here we see that the Old testament prophetic call has been shifted. Israel was dependent on the voice of the Prophet; but in the New Testament the Prophet confirms the body to listen to the voice in them because they have the ability to hear God on the level of their relationship as sons. The Old Testament Prophet was on solo missions doing the work of God; while the new Testament Prophet is moving as a corporate body with a governmental mandate.”
