What if Matthew 16:18 said “…upon this rock I will build my convocation, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” Well, the word “church” in Matthew 16:18 is Ecclesia meaning a calling out, an assembly; but so does the word “convocation”. When the saints gather it is a convocation. Convocation is a combination of come and together, also come voice, vocare, to call together. A Convocation is also a gathering of eagles in flight, but more interesting is the stage from convocation to congress, or a congress to a convocation. Congress is to come and gress is a grade or in step together, to come in step. So before you can fly together as a convocation, you must be able to walk together as a Congress! How can two walk together except they be agreed? The church!
