After Jesus ascended into heaven he appeared before the throne of God for us. His death on the cross destroyed Satan’s power. Satan used the law of Moses (Old Testament) to accuse Old Testament saints before God. The law of Moses created the law of sin and death in our flesh because our flesh couldn’t keep the law, but it worked in our flesh to bring forth fruit unto death. Sin was magnified in us because the Good law worked in our flesh a bad law that continued to kill us. Romans 7:11 “For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.” Romans 7:23 “But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.”
For by the law is the knowledge of Sin. And the strength of Sin was the law of Moses; but Jesus took sins strength away by nailing the law to the cross therefore destroying sin in his body which was made Sin. So now without the law Sin is dead. The law of the Spirit is love, which is given to us through the Spirit of Christ. Satan can’t use the law against us because it died when Christ died on the cross. So, Satan and his angels were kicked out from having back and forth access into heaven to accuse us before God. He was now relegated to the first heaven and earth. But Jesus has all power in heaven and earth.
Ten days after Jesus ascends into heaven the Holy Spirit comes and is planted in the heart of the church!! The war in heaven lasted 10 days, but Satan has already been cast out of heaven from what Jesus Christ did at the cross!!!!!! John 12:31-32, says, “Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” John 16:11, says, “Of judgment, because the prince (Satan) of this world is judged.” Satan was Judged at the cross. Jesus said I beheld Satan fall as lightning from heaven. God calls those things which be not as though they are. Jesus was speaking prophetically of what would happen after the cross.
Satan falls in three stages: in his first fall he lost his archangel status, in his second fall which we are speaking of now, he loses his heavenly access into the third heaven and is only relegated to the first heaven, and in his last fall he is cast into the lake of fire.
Mark 3:27, says, “No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.” Jesus spoiled his goods at the cross: Colossians 2:15, says, “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” “It” meaning the cross.
But how did Jesus have power over him before the cross? Because Christ was already ordained to die before The world began. Jesus bound Satan first by casting him out of heaven so he couldn’t use the Old Testament law against the saints anymore so he shut the mouth of devil: By this being done by what Jesus did at the cross we have power over the works of the devil. Revelation 20 is key, this happened after the temple was destroyed in A.D. 70. Satan was bound FROM DECEIVING THE NATIONS, the nation’s meaning non-Jews from being able to hear the gospel. People could believe on Jesus. The gospel would be proclaimed throughout the world which happened and is happening (Eph.2:15).
NOW IS COME SALVATION AND STRENGTH!!! The Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost in A.D.33 bringing salvation!!!! THE KINGDOM WITHOUT OBSERVATION CAME WITH A SOUND!! A sound of a rushing mighty wind!!!!! Strength had finally come!! What is this strength? I T WAS GRACE!!! Grace is the power God!! Grace DOES NOT MEAN since I’m saved, I can walk in sin; BUT IT MEANS I have the power to OVERCOME IT, because Grace is the STRENGTH of GOD in your life! HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT! When we were YET without STRENGTH, CHRIST died for us!
