“Romans 6:14 says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.”
But why would sin have dominion over you if you were under the law? It’s because for by the law is the knowledge of sin, and the strength of sin is the law, meaning the law magnified sin, and its offense against God.
(As an apostolic teacher I will repeat phrases, so it sinks in). Sin is stronger in us when the law magnifies its error. Sin working through the weakness of our flesh by the law needed to end. This is why Jesus took sins strength away by nailing the law to the cross, for without the law sin is dead, but if I walk in the Spirit I am not under the law. We walk under a new law, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ.
You can only walk in the Spirit by the strength of Grace. It is the strength of Grace that helps us to say no to sin, and yes to God.”
